A small knife I made from 1095, and there is another I made from a leaf spring bit. Fully hardened and tempered. The one in the pictures is the 1095 one.

This looks like a very useful wee knife, dead practical. Does it work well?

It does, but when I made it I was very much still getting the hang of things. It is sharp, but the geometry of the edge is very thick, it could be a thousand times better.

Great concept though.

reminds me of an assassin's knife...just the right size to slip between the vertebrae and sever the spinal chord...
now dont get any ideas... *wink*

Not so much for sick fucking bastard murderous fantasy things, more for what it was intended to do, open packages. And consider *NO* ideas gotten whatsoever.

sorry, you just seem to dislike emos...

i'm sure it is wonderful for opening packages, does it need to be sharpened after a christmas day's worth of box-opening?

Disliking emo kids has nothing to do with being a murderous fuck.

On the other foot though, no it works great, 1095 is one of those FANTASTIC steels, just holds a great edge. Made it awhile ago now, and it hasn't needed a sharpening yet, and it never had a too good edge to begin with either hehe.

sorry, i'm not really murderous, just a teen with generally tame ideas.

the idea itself is not mine, actually taken from a fantastic series by robin hobb, the assassin trilogy...interesting idea, however i would never wish it to be done to anybody....umm...sorry for suggesting it really :P
